Layer Marney Tower
As you approach Layer Marney Tower along the driveway, your first sight will take your breath away. A tudor palace, built in the reign of Henry VIII, towers elegantly over its surroundings. Once you have arrived, you may pause for a moment in the courtyard to take in your regal setting. To the right hand side of the arch and past the de Zoete Rooms, you see the entrance to East Court. From here, you ascend the stairs to the Tukes Chamber and through into the Corsellis Room, where your civil ceremony will take place.
After the ceremony, you and your guests move through the lobby of East Court and out into the beautiful gardens. Here you will be greeted by our wine waiters who will serve you drinks whilst photographs are taken. On the steps in front of the tower our staff will serve a selection of canapés to you and your guests as they admire the magnificent scenery. For a winter wedding, the drinks and canapés can be served in the bar area and the mistrels gallery or alternatively a marquee can be assembled in the courtyard.
You can choose to receive your guests at the top of the staircase or invite them to be seated in the Long Gallery. Our waiting staff will then serve you and your guests the wedding breakfast menu of your choice.
Once the wedding breakfast has been enjoyed and speeches delivered, your drinks will be put aside and we will open our bar. At this time we will rearrange the Long Gallery for the evening celebrations. As the evening entertainment continues, we will serve the evening food of your choice to your guests, rounding off what will have been a perfect and memorable day.
